Getting to photograph families as they settle into life with their new baby has been such a highlight for me over the past few years. When it’s couples I know from photographing their wedding it’s even sweeter. Amanda and Dan were married a few years ago in Jackson, New Hampshire, and theirs was one of my favorite wedding days to date. I loved getting to spend some time with them again, catching up and meeting their sweet girl, Emilia. These are a few of my favorite images from our quiet morning together. Enjoy!

Last month I traveled to New Orleans for Cole and Maegan’s wedding. I never thought I’d be so lucky to get to photograph a wedding in the French Quarter, and theirs was more beautiful than I imagined. And so, so much fun. Every part of the day had such an amazing New Orleans feel to it (especially the second line - why do we not do that in New England??). The warm sunshine and blooms everywhere were especially lovely in the midst of a freezing and gray February back home in NH. Latrobe’s on Royal was the most charming spot for their reception…the age and beauty of it were the perfect backdrop for their celebration. Recently I got to meet this sweet baby boy and catch up with his incredible mom who I’ve been so lucky to get to know over the past few years. We first met when she was a bridesmaid in a wedding I was photographing, and since then we’ve seen each other for her engagement photos in Boston and beautiful wedding on Lake Winnipisaukee. Seeing them again, in their new home, Cori settling into motherhood so gracefully, it’s all so wonderful. I’m so happy that our paths crossed and that I’ve gotten to know these people over the last few years, and I can’t wait to see what wonderful things are ahead of them. The cold and quiet is settling in, and with it some time to glance back over the past few weeks and months. I did more newborn sessions this year than ever before. This family was such a highlight for me, both with their beach-side maternity session and then their in-home newborn session. Getting to spend time with people in those first few weeks home with their newborn is something I look forward to so much. I know how bittersweet it feels to know that they will be so little for only a short time. As much joy as it brings watching them grow, you will always want to remember how tiny they felt in your arms, how they felt sleeping on your chest. My intent is to create images that document how your family feels in this time that will almost surely feel like a blur in years to come.
