The cold and quiet is settling in, and with it some time to glance back over the past few weeks and months. I did more newborn sessions this year than ever before. This family was such a highlight for me, both with their beach-side maternity session and then their in-home newborn session. Getting to spend time with people in those first few weeks home with their newborn is something I look forward to so much. I know how bittersweet it feels to know that they will be so little for only a short time. As much joy as it brings watching them grow, you will always want to remember how tiny they felt in your arms, how they felt sleeping on your chest. My intent is to create images that document how your family feels in this time that will almost surely feel like a blur in years to come. These are a few of my favorite images from my morning spent with this sweet family in their CT home. Enjoy, xo.

A few weeks ago I met Lynzy of Sparkling Footsteps for these pictures of her beautiful family. I “knew” her through Instagram (I love you, internet) and was used to seeing so many beautiful pictures of her family and home. I confess, I wasn’t sure why she wanted to hire me. : ) We met in Madison, CT for photos on the beach, and it was one of those times that everything just fell into place, like it couldn’t have been planned better if we had tried. The beach was so crowded, but here and there were these incredible little areas that we had to ourselves. It was one of the sweetest family sessions I’ve photographed, and I still feel so, so lucky that our paths crossed and that she loves and appreciates film so much that she knew she wanted me to do it. It was just perfect. These are a few of my favorites from our time together, and I am so incredibly excited to see them again when their new little one arrives. Enjoy!

Callan and Brian were married July 17th, 2015. This day…it was incredible. Starting with their ceremony at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Charlton, followed by a less traditional ceremony later in the evening at the old meeting house in Sturbridge Village. (They combined soil from each of their childhood homes to plant a tree that will grow in their new home. It was as lovely as it sounds!) Guests were taken around Old Sturbridge Village on horse-drawn carriages, lanterns lit cobblestone walkways, rabbits ran among the gardens, and a perfectly unchanged colonial small town was our backdrop. Each person there lit up when they saw Callan and Brian. They were so loved, and met with such excitement for their new marriage. I’ve only known them a year and I totally get it - they are each so kind and happy and genuinely wonderful people that it doesn’t seem possible. I am so excited to see what they do next, and how their love and happiness grows. (They bring out the sappy in me, they are just that awesome!) Here’s to you, Callan and Brian! All the love in the world ~

This sweet family currently lives in Germany, so when they asked me to photograph them while they visited and wanted a very New England-y feel, I was so excited. We met in Concord, Ma, and walked around in the most perfect summer evening light while Harry ran circles around us and kept us laughing the entire time. They’re excitedly expecting another little boy next month, and I can barely wait to see them as a family of four. They love to travel and take full advantage of living in Europe, and are a huge inspiration for me to travel more with my own little ones (Mallory’s instagram is constantly cool and full of their explorations to new places). I loved meeting them and can’t wait to catch up over a beer with them in their beautiful German village one of these days. It will happen. : ) Here are a few favorites from our afternoon together…enjoy!
