The Carney Family

The first few years I photographed families, I focused on finding really pretty locations and hitting those perfect times of day for incredible lighting. Once those elements were set the rest just fell into place. I spent so many late-afternoons in tall grass meadows with really wonderful families who took my word for it that the ticks and muddy boots would all be worth it. (It was!) While I still enjoy that type of session a lot, what has me really excited lately is spending time with families in their home. Documenting what an afternoon looks like for them, how the light pours into their kitchen, how they collapse into the couch together so perfectly. I hope to be able to preserve a memory of your family and your home as it is now. For me there’s nothing sweeter than that.
